Tara is the mother Goddess, and White Tara is one of the many versions of the Tara, which directly translates to "one who saves". White Tara is a very prominent figure in Mahayana Buddhism and is believed to be born from the tear of the Boddhisatva of Compassion, Avalokitesvara, she is associated with health, long life and prosperity.
